The enchanting Jarrah Forest of the Darling escarpment situated height of 864 feet above sea level is home to a diverse showcase of flora and fauna, bushwalking and mountain bike trails, secluded camping spots and oodles of crisp, clean air.  It is the beating heart of the Murray River region, captivating visitors with a thirst for the great outdoors.

Steeped in history, the Murray River region holds a significant place in the colonization of Western Australia when Thomas Peel  established a settlement at the mouth of the Murray River in 1830.  As the young colony was established, industry and indigenous culture collided.  Our heritage is one of entrepreneurial pioneers, dark stories and cultural reconciliation.

The Serpentine River shapes the landscape as it slithers its way down from high up in the Darling Ranges, down the Scarp, flood plains, pools, back waters and lakes, ànd disappears into the Peel Inlet.  Water courses through the veins of our region.  In the past it has fueled industry and today is the lifeblood of our aquatic playground.
