Bush Basketry with Nalda Searles
Join Lost Eden Creative for their “Autumn Workshops” series of creative workshops inspired by the environment that surrounds Lost Eden Farm Studio, perched in the unique forests of Dwellingup. Each workshop is presented by a leading Western Australian artist who will guide and inspire you to create something truly unique.
Nalda Searles is a living icon of Western Australian art. For close to thirty years, she has been an innovator in the use of native fibres and found objects from the environment for the production of fibre-textiles, sculptures and installation artworks.
In this fascinating workshop learn the fundamentals of bush basketry with gathered plant materials and natural fibres and create your own individualised basket form.
Bring along your own collection of twigs and leaves, seeds, shells, bones, stones (anything with a hole in it), linens cottons and colourful rags which can be torn into strips or collect materials from the forest at Lost Eden.
No experience is necessary. Limited places available and bookings are essential.
