Stringmaking with Nalda Searles
Join Lost Eden Creative for their “Autumn Workshops” series of creative workshops inspired by the environment that surrounds Lost Eden Farm Studio, perched in the unique forests of Dwellingup. Each workshop is presented by a leading Western Australian artist who will guide and inspire you to create something truly unique.
This workshop is a wonderfully creative environment where you can develop your skills and connect with fellow artists, learning how to make string from old and discarded cloth.
The morning begins with a presentation from Nalda Searles and her extensive collection of bush jewellery including neckpieces, arm pieces, brooches and head pieces. Nalda shares her strong relationship with the bush, which is both her muse and her treasure trove of materials.
The afternoon continues as you learn how to make string from old and discarded cloth. Bring along your own collection of seeds, shells, bones, stones (anything with a hole in it), linens, cottons and colourful rags which can be torn into strips or collect materials from the forest at Lost Eden.
No experience is necessary. Limited places available and bookings are essential.
